It’s getting to be the time in baseball where all the talk is about magic numbers: the number needed to clinch that elsuive playoff berth.

This year, the coolness is today’s Sox-Yanks game, which matters because one of the two teams will clinch a playoff berth today.  If the Yankees win, they’ll have clinched the division, but if the Sox win, they’ll have clinched the wild card and still have a shot at the division.

Luckily, ESPN has the game…of course, we were roundly outnumbered by those around us and are watching football.
