ESPN is reporting that Tiger Woods was seriously injured thisd morning in what is thought to have been a one-car accident near his Orlando, Florida home.  (Some sources say directly outside his home.)  Florida news say he hit a fire hydrant and tree while pulling out of his driveway.

UPDATE: The crash occurred at 2:20 in the morning, but alcohol was not a factor according to local police.  He was driving his 2008 Cadillac SUV.  (Seems to us that he must not have been wearing a seatbelt maybe?)

News outlets only started reporting this in the last ten minutes, but we’ll have more as it comes in.

No charges have been fiuled in connection with the accident.  Details to come.

UPDATE: Woods’ spokesman says that the injuries are not as serious as first reported and Woods has been treated and released.
